Privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
This policy explains what information WhetherTrend (whethertrend.com, "we" or "us") collects when you visit the site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain. If something is unclear, email us at privacy@whethertrend.com.
What we collect
Information collected automatically
When you visit, we and our partners collect information through cookies, pixels and similar technologies, including:
- Device and browser details, such as browser type, operating system, screen size and language
- IP address and the approximate location it indicates (city or region, not your street address)
- Pages you view, how long you stay, the page that referred you, and the ad or search that brought you here
- Clicks on links to Amazon and other retailers, including which link and where it appeared on the page
- Cookie and advertising identifiers
Information you give us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We have no accounts, comments or sign-up forms, so we don't otherwise ask for your name or contact details.
We don't collect payment information. Purchases happen on Amazon or another retailer's site, under that retailer's privacy policy.
How we use it
- To run the site and keep it secure
- To understand which pages and recommendations people find useful
- To measure how our ads perform and which visits lead to clicks on retailer links
- To show our ads to people who have visited the site before (retargeting) and to reach people with similar interests
- To reply when you contact us
- To comply with the law and enforce our rights
Cookies, pixels and the partners who use them
- Google Analytics. Measures visits and how people use the site. Google's practices are described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Google Ads. Measures ad conversions and lets us show ads to past visitors on Google and partner sites.
- Meta Pixel. Measures visits and clicks from Facebook and Instagram ads and lets us show ads to past visitors and similar audiences on Meta's platforms. See Meta's privacy policy.
- Amazon Associates. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon may set cookies so it can credit us for qualifying purchases. Amazon's handling of your information is covered by Amazon's privacy notice.
These partners may combine information from our site with information they collect elsewhere, under their own privacy policies.
How we share information
- Service providers who host and run the site for us.
- Analytics and advertising partners listed above, for measurement, retargeting and ad targeting.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
- A business transfer, such as a sale or merger of the site, under this policy.
We don't sell names, email addresses or other contact details. Some US state laws treat letting advertising partners collect information through cookies and pixels for targeted advertising as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out of that at any time, as described below.
Your privacy choices
Opt out of ad tracking on this site
This turns off our Google Ads and Meta advertising tags in this browser. It's stored in your browser, so repeat it on each browser and device you use, and again if you clear your browser data. Google Analytics keeps measuring visits, with advertising features turned off.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, and our ad tags don't load.
Other ways to limit tracking
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- Google ad settings: My Ad Center. Google Analytics: opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta ad settings: Ad preferences.
- Industry opt-outs: Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative.
Opting out of targeted ads doesn't stop all ads. You may still see ads that aren't based on your activity.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you, and get a copy
- Correct it or delete it
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising
- Appeal if we turn down your request
- Not be treated differently for using these rights
To make a request, email privacy@whethertrend.com. We may need to confirm it's you before we act on it. You can also have an authorized agent make the request for you. Because we don't ask for names or accounts, most information we hold is tied to cookies and devices rather than to you by name, so the opt-out controls above are often the quickest route.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Analytics and advertising partners keep data under their own retention settings and policies. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to deal with them.
Children
The site is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including serving the site over HTTPS. No website or internet transmission is completely secure.
Visitors outside the US
The site is run from the United States and intended for US visitors. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the US.
Other sites
We link to Amazon and other sites we don't control. Their privacy policies apply once you leave WhetherTrend.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top when we do. Significant changes will also be noted on the site.
